At the noon of December 5, 2023, a Chinese woman was attacked by two snatch thieves, her handbag robbed near the Phsar Tuol Tom Poung (the Russian Market) in Phnom Penh. Alerted by the lady’s screams, an E-GetS delivery man, who happened to pick up meal at a nearby restaurant, unhesitatingly chased down the robbers with some locals. Across the corner of St.135 and St.470, Chamkar Mon district, they met another nine delivery men at their meal break. The latter, upon request, quickly gathered and jointly intercepted the two criminals until they were arrested and sent to the police station.
The incident has subsequently attracted widespread attention among the public. The victim contacted E-GetS in person in the hope of extending her sincere gratitude to these ordinary heroes. The company, meanwhile, has organized an award ceremony where Chairman Mr. Xiao Lianhuo presented his riders with the “Bravery Award” and bonus as a commendation for their nobility and selflessness.
